Forgiveness in Education: Strategies for Building Stronger Relationships in Schools
Service Description
“The important part of forgiveness is to begin and to continue. The finishing of it all is a life work. Truly, if we could understand all, all could be forgiven. But for most people it takes a long time in the alchemical bath to come to this. It is all right. We have the healer, so we have the patience to see it through.” – Clarissa Pinkola Estés
Course Description
This course can be taken as a continuation of ‘Rage as Teacher’ but also stands alone. Here we will delve into the root causes, from rage, anger, grief (among others) to allow our instinct to heal. The process is cyclical – it is never quite done – yet it is necessary work for the good of our own spirit. We will then be able to focus on the four stages of forgiveness and how to practice them – for / with ourselves and others. All emotion finds its way out somehow, eventually – like water, as it too finds its way and carves a path through anything, it cannot be contained (at least not for long). Whatever emotions we have (learnt) to bottle up, to confine and contain, let’s explore how they can actually be teaching us a lesson about boundaries, about what we need and what we don’t need to heal ourselves; how by expressing such emotions we are actually being true to ourselves and therefore true to others; how we can transform them into something which can work for us, rather than against us, in all facets of life.
