Integrating 21st Century Skills in the School Curriculum
Course Description
This course provides participants with the opportunity to explore various ways in which the 12 areas of the 21st Century skills, namely: Critical thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, Information literacy, Media literacy, Technology literacy, Flexibility, Leadership, Initiative, Productivity and Social skills can be successfully integrated in a cross-curricular approach within the school curriculum. The participants will undergo training in curriculum design which will help them to draw a tailor-made model for the schools in which the participants work. The course will provide a unique hands-on, training opportunity to participants where it will provide strategies to address key questions, including:
- What are 21st Century skills?
- What relevance do they have for our students?
- How can 21st Century Skills be integrated in a cross-curricular approach?
- How are 21st Century skills taught in schools?
- What are the challenges educators are currently facing?
